I am so sorry for the delay in blogging. It has been a very busy week! Between switching classes and the new homework....whoo. Once the routine sets in, everything will be smoother....I hope. By the way, we are going to have a homework clinic on Wednesday (one at 7:15 and one at 3:00). It shouldn't take long to go over the homework plan and answer all questions you may have. If you can't make it Wednesday, stop by before (please set a time with me so I'm sure to be there) or after school. We are very excited about the new homework plan and want to do everything we can to make it successful. I am so thrilled with the connections students have made in class. There have been lots of comments that relfect great home practice. Thank you!
Here is a picture from yesterday's "thinking outside the box." It's bacon on a plate...very creative, Ms. J. If I can ever remember to bring my charged phone to school, I promise to take more pictures.
This year, our school began the initiative: Lindeman Gives. Each class is paired with another grade to work on a project to help others. Our theme is "In Our Own Backyards." We are encouraging the children to find ways to help in our community. Today we helped in our community by safely picking up litter (only under supervision and gloves) with the help of our fourth grade buddies. Be sure to ask your child about his/her buddy. Each child is matched up with a fourth grader (or too). We read with them on Wednesday and will read again the week after next week. Today was a great start on our community project and the children cooperated so well with their buddies. If you have any ideas for any projects, please let us know. We want everyone to be involved! Have a great weekend and I will try very hard next week to update much more often.
